Last time, I logged out after finishing the first of three athletic courses required to earn the Tadpole athlete badge. I picked things back up with the second course, which took place on a giant bridge.
This one wasn’t as hard as the first, in terms of not falling off things, but it was a bit more nerve-wracking because there were enemies to deal with and also a very long drop to the river below. I ran out of time on my first attempt but completed it successfully the second time around.
The third course took place at a ski resort infested with Super Mutants. It took me a while to find the start of the course and I had to battle some Super Mutants along the way.
The course itself wasn’t exactly difficult but it was full of traps. I finished this one on my first try.
That left passing the athletic ability exam back at the Tadpole camp, which I did and earned the first of the three badges I need. After looking through the other challenges, I selected mammalian to work on next.
For this one, you needed to successfully milk 10 Brahmin and then photograph several different animals with the prosnap camera. The biggest challenge here was that I didn’t realize the prosnap camera was a thing and thought it just wanted me to use the game’s photoshoot feature.
Once I figured that part out, I had to find the corpse of a tourist that randomly spawns in one of 13 locations. After a number of unsuccessful attempts at checking random spots, I decided to check my miscellaneous quests and found I had already started a quest to investigate a suspicious person by checking my terminal at camp.
Completing that quest netted me the elusive camera and then I just had to start traveling around the world to get animal pictures. Since I knew where to find them, I started with the Brahmin.
Next, I traveled to the coffee shop near Welch to photograph a cat and since I was nearby grabbed the Overseer’s journal in town and Duchess’s Stash nearby. I then proceeded to photograph an opossum, fox, rabbit, wolf, and radstag in various locations.
I was on my way to get the final photograph of a Yao Guai when I got interrupted by another mutated event, so I stopped there. Tomorrow, I’ll head back out in search of the Yao Guai.
